Kanawha Trace 50K/10K Trail Run

The 2nd Annual Kanawha Trace 50K/10K Trail Run has something for everyone. Our first year there were over 20 States repersented. The KT runs�31.1 miles through 3 counties in West Virginia. Many parts of the trail were old bison and Indian trails. It began in 1962 when one scout dreamed of connecting these trails and creating a historical journey. This dream came true and and has been maintained by the scouts since. The race has a variety of terrain which is mainly made up of single track trail and only about 5 total miles of country dirt roads. Come enjoy the ridges, meadows, creeks, waterfalls, tunnels, and much more. This years race has chip timing, a special boyscout finishing medal designed especially for the race, NorthFace Dri-fit technical shirts and lots more. All proceeds go to Cabell Huntingon Childrens Hospital and the Boyscouts of America.You can find out all of the details at wvmt.org. Come, 'Experienc the Past, and Conquer the Future'

The Kanawha Trace is a 31.68-mile foot trail running from Barboursville, WV to Frazier’s Bottom, WV. The 50k race will be ran in reverse direction from Fraziers bottom to Ona, WV and finish at the camp arrowhead. 10K will start at Merritts Creek Road and end at Boyscout Camp Arrowhead. The Kanawha Trace runs through 3 counties in West Virginia (Cabell, Mason, Putnam county). The trail was built in 1962 and is currently maintained by a local Boy Scout Troop 42 of the Tri-State Area Council.
